Kenai Fishing Adventures: Explore Alaska’s Kenai and Kasilof Rivers

The Kenai River is renowned for its wild returns of salmon by the millions and boasts a trophy Rainbow trout fishery that yields some of the largest fish found anywhere in Alaska.

Understanding the regulations and run timing on the Kenai River can be complex, as there is a seemingly overwhelming amount of information available. The peak run timing and the specific sections of the Kenai River that are most productive can vary from season to season and even day to day. I’m here to answer any questions you may have about fishing on the Kenai River and will always provide you with an honest opinion.

About us

The fishing

We offer fishing trips on the Kenai River for King, Sockeye (Red), Silver salmon, trophy Rainbow trout, and Dolly Varden (Char). Whether you prefer fly fishing or conventional gear, I accommodate anglers of all ages and abilities so everyone can enjoy what makes Alaska so special. We provide all the gear and equipment, along with instruction, needed to get you out on the water and ensure your success.

Boats and equipment

We operate out of custom built 20 ft aluminum power and drift boats made by Willie Boats, which have set the standard for the Kenai River for years. These boats are safe, reliable, comfortable, and purpose-built for the rivers we fish.

For our fishing trips on the Kenai River, we provide high-end, quality rods and reels, as well as breathable chest waders if needed for the day.

Our location

The Kenai Peninsula is one of the most beautiful regions of Alaska, with our fisheries flowing right through the heart of it, including the stunning Kenai River. This river features several road-accessible points along its 82-mile course and is just a 2-3 hour scenic drive from Anchorage. Additionally, the Kasilof River is only a short, 20-minute drive south of the town of Soldotna.

Depending on the target species and the time of year, we operate out of a private boat slip near Soldotna with free parking—no parking lines or crowds to deal with! Kasilof drift boat trips will commence at a public boat launch, while our trout trip locations will vary as the trout population in the Kenai River migrates and concentrates on different food sources throughout the season.

Your guide-BRANDON ring

As a lifelong Alaskan and year-round resident, I have a deep love for travel, having fished and guided all over the state. However, the rivers of the Kenai Peninsula, especially the Kenai River, truly feel like home to me. I’ve been fishing the Kenai River and its surrounding streams since I could walk, and my passion for them has never waned. I’d love to share my experience with you and work hard to ensure you have the best trip possible.
